Ellie Griffin’s Mindful Movement Practice For A Healthy and Happy Life

Inspiring is an understatement when describing Ellie Griffin. Spreading “love and light” wherever she goes, Ellie strives to educate others on efficient exercise and how to enjoy their unique wellness needs and lifestyles.

The Washington-based yoga instructor and movement coach grew up in a fitness-focused family, running cross-country and track, hula-hooping and dancing. She eventually made her way into yoga, weightlifting, HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and cycling.  

We caught up with the active Bloom Farms CBD community member to hear how she became a fitness coach and what’s next for her.

Were you always health-conscious or did your passion for wellness develop as you got older? 

Health and wellness have always been important to me to some degree. Growing up, my mom was always health-focused. 

How did you first enter the yoga-movement world? 

My mom introduced me to yoga when I was a teenager and took me to my first few classes and workshops. I took some time off from yoga but started again in my 20s. Since then, I’ve been committed to a consistent practice and never looked back! 

Why did you become a certified yoga teacher and movement coach?

I was called to teach. It was like my heart just knew one day. I couldn’t ignore it! I did my teacher training in Seattle at Be Luminous Yoga. Movement has taught me so much about the body and how to cross-train effectively. My goal is to show people how to make exercise efficient and enjoyable for their unique needs and lifestyles. Now, I teach group and private yoga and movement classes on Zoom as well as classes on YouTube

What have you learned about yourself during your fitness journey? 

The most important thing is that I’m so much stronger than I thought. I’ve learned that I don’t have to give up when it gets hard. Being present during the struggle has been so empowering and has helped me realize that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to!

I also heard that you’d eventually love to teach about versatile plant-based eating. Why do you feel that is important? 

A pillar of my wellness coaching course is intuitive eating. Everyone’s body needs different things. I help people learn how to listen to their bodies to create a way of nourishment that makes them feel good. Eating a plant-based diet can help prevent cancer and diabetes, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, improve energy and quality of life. I’ve got a mini-course that includes a plant-based recipe book, a seven-day meal plan and prep guide, as well as informational group chat forums. I also have plans to share more mini-tutorials for essential vegan hacks on my IGTV channel! 

What do you enjoy most about your work? 

I love helping people feel good in their bodies. We’re conditioned to believe that it’s normal to be in pain. With a healthy diet and regular exercise, it doesn’t have to be that way. Nourishing our bodies in a way that meets our specific needs is a powerful practice that is unique to each of us. Showing people how to find their own way and commit to it is so fulfilling!

Which Bloom Farms products are your favorite?

It’s so hard to say! I’ve tried a lot of CBD brands, and Bloom Farms is hands down my favorite! It doesn’t make me tired or my body feel heavy the next day. My next coaching course is launching in September. I’m also going to share a lot more meditations and mindfulness practices on my Instagram. New yoga and workout classes are added weekly to my YouTube channel.
