FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Question What’s the difference between 300 mg Balance & 600 mg Relieve?
AnswerThe only difference is the amount of CBD suspended in the oil. Both formulas are 30 mL, but Balance contains 300 mg of CBD and Relieve has 600 mg of CBD. Relieve is slightly stronger in flavor and an overall better value.
Question Can I still use the tincture if the color has changed or sedimentation occurs?
AnswerSince our tinctures are made using the whole plant and are rich in active compounds, harmless natural discoloration or sedimentation may occur. Our tinctures have an official shelf life of one year. We recommend that you always store the tincture in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Question How should I store my product?
AnswerWhen you’re done, seal tightly and store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. The included duster bag is good for keeping the bottle clean and discreet when you travel or are on the go.
Question Which product should I choose?
AnswerWe suggest 300 mg Balance as an entry point for new users to see how CBD works for them. If you already know CBD works for you, 600 mg Relieve is a better value because it requires fewer servings to ingest your desired amount. It contains two times the CBD as 300 mg Balance in the same serving size.
Question Why does it taste like this?
AnswerThe exceptional quality of the full terpene profile is evident in the distinctive taste of our tincture. Free of artificial colors and flavors, its earthy unfiltered flavor indicates that it’s all-natural and full-spectrum.
Question Where does your hemp come from?
AnswerAll of the hemp for our CBD tinctures is grown in the USA (with ethical and ecologically sound biodynamic farming practices) specifically for use in CBD tinctures. Unique zero-waste cultivation recreates the most ideal growing environment.

Question How many mg of CBD is in your tincture? What else is in it?
Answer300 mg Balance contains 10 mg of CBD per 1 ml dropper (2.5 mg of CBD per 1/4 ml serving). A bottle contains 120 servings.

600 mg Relieve contains 20 mg of CBD per 1 ml dropper (5 mg of CBD per 1/4 ml serving). A bottle contains 120 servings.

Since it contains twice the CBD as Balance, the flavor of 600 mg Relieve may be slightly stronger than 300 mg Balance. Our tinctures contain only 100% USDA Certified Organic MCT Oil (Coconut Oil) and extract derived from 100% USDA Certified Organic Hemp.

Question What extraction methods do you use?
AnswerWe use only gentle thermal extraction and flash activation. Only heated air comes in contact with the organic material—no alcohol or other solvents. “Flash activation” preserves the source plant’s cannabinoids and full terpene profile for a truly full-spectrum CBD tincture.

Question What makes your products a good value?
AnswerWe feel our products are priced well… in line with the market. But since not all CBD tinctures are created equal, each BLOOM FARMS CBD tincture is an exceptional value because of a few key differentiators:

  • It’s important to know where CBD is sourced from. One industrial use for some hemp is phytoremediation, a process that uses plants to filter contaminants like heavy metals out of soil… because of this, it’s crucial that the CBD tincture you ingest is derived from hemp plants that are responsibly grown in clean soil.
  • Our CBD tinctures are made in the USA and derived from a special strain of high-CBD hemp cultivated specifically for this purpose.
  • Our gentle thermal extraction process that uses zero solvents. “Flash activation” preserves the source plant’s full cannabinoid and terpene profile to ensure a truly full-spectrum extract.
  • Our hemp is organically grown with biodynamic farming practices, which means it’s cultivated with a unique zero-waste process that is ecological and ethical.

Question How do I know it’s safe?
AnswerLike all BLOOM FARMS CBD products, our CBD tinctures are meticulously lab-tested for quality and safety.

We lab-test multiple times throughout the hemp growing and extraction process: During growth, the hemp plants are tested for pesticides; after extraction, the CBD tincture is re-tested for pesticides and additionally tested for heavy metals, microbes and solvents.

Our plants are 100% USDA Certified Organic Industrial Hemp (Organic Certifiers).

Question How does CBD work?
AnswerTo understand CBD, we always start by talking about the endocannabinoid system or ECS.

The ECS is a complex system in the human body that is understood to modulate all physiological processes throughout the brain and body, including the management of appetite, pain, sleep and mood. The purpose of this system is whole-body homeostasis (or balance), the optimal state for maintaining health and natural healing.

Cannabinoids like CBD interact with the ECS by binding directly or indirectly to ECS receptors and acting like chemical messengers to turn on or turn off physiologic signaling in the body.

Whole-body homeostasis means the body can concentrate on what it does best: natural healing and an overall sense of wellness.

Question What is CBD used for? What are the benefits of CBD?
AnswerA CBD regimen is said to encourage ideal mind-body balance and an overall sense of wellness. We named the products Balance, Relieve and Recover in an effort to capture the benefits many people attribute to CBD.

A lot of people associate CBD with mind-body balance, wellness and calm. It’s also often chosen to encourage evening relaxation, restful sleep or post-exercise relief.

Question Why is a tincture a good way to ingest CBD?
AnswerBy ingesting sublingually (under the tongue where many capillaries reside), the active ingredient of a tincture—in this case, hemp-derived CBD—reaches the bloodstream more quickly and bypasses absorption barriers like the intestines for maximum efficacy.
Question What are terpenes?
AnswerTerpenes are natural compounds that serve a variety of purposes, including forming a plant’s distinctive flavor and aroma profile, which can range from earthy and pungent to sweet and fruity. Though terpenes are found throughout nature, the plant family cannabaceae is unique because it can express a wide variety of terpenes to create complex and distinctive flavor profiles.
Question How is a CBD tincture made?
AnswerHemp-derived CBD can be extracted through several means, some of which require alcohol or other harsh solvents. Our proprietary method of flash-activation and gentle thermal extraction requires only certified organic plant material. This process ensures the highest levels of naturally occurring terpenes and phytocannabinoids, the beneficial compounds responsible for the “entourage effect.” The CBD-rich hemp extract is combined with MCT (USDA Certified Organic Coconut Oil) for a truly full-spectrum tincture.
Question Why should I take CBD, and how do I know that it’s working? What the heck will it actually do for me?
AnswerBecause everyone is different and there are many contributing factors, we can’t give specific effects or results any single individual will experience.

Users might experience the effects of CBD differently. Many people use it to achieve mind-body balance. They say it contributes to their general feeling of wellness. A lot of people use it for relaxation and restful sleep, and some use it for relief after exercise.

“How effective” CBD is comes down to a user’s individualized wants or needs. For some, an appreciable or noticeable effect is not the goal. For those with goals in mind, feeling the desired effects is a clear indicator that CBD is “working.”

We suggest taking stock of your general sense of wellness before starting, then re-assessing a month later. Some questions people ask themselves might include: How’s my mood lately? How does my body feel? Is my mind-body balance good or does it feel off? Do I feel generally well?

Question What do “whole-plant” and “full-spectrum” mean? Is CBD isolate better?
AnswerCBD isolate is CBD separated from the plant’s other compounds. “Whole-plant CBD”—also called full-spectrum CBD—is CBD extract that contains the source plant’s other cannabinoids and beneficial terpenes.

Our position reflects what research suggests: Whole-plant extracts are more beneficial because of the entourage effect. Based on the idea that the effectiveness of CBD is enhanced by the “entourage effect,” our full-spectrum hemp-derived CBD tinctures contain the cannabinoids and beneficial terpenes of their source plants.

All BLOOM FARMS CBD products are designed to be as close to the source plant as possible.

BACK

Question What does “flash activation” mean?
AnswerIt’s a step of processing—specifically, it’s the method of decarboxylation—that preserves the plant’s cannabinoids and terpenes as they naturally occur in the source plant material.
Question What is “micro-dosing” CBD?
AnswerThe widely used term “micro-dosing” refers to the practice of consuming small amounts of CBD at a time, often at increased frequency throughout the day. A “micro” amount typically refers to a serving size ranging from a fraction to 2.5 mg of CBD. Since less is typically more with CBD, users can benefit from taking smaller amounts more often as opposed to a large amount all at once. This way, a constant amount of CBD remains in the body throughout the day instead of being metabolized and eliminated just a few hours after use.
Question Is CBD legal?
AnswerThe laws surrounding CBD are constantly evolving. There is a clear trend toward full federal legalization. For the most accurate info where you live, refer to your state laws and government.
Question How much CBD do I take?
AnswerThe standard serving size of our tinctures is 1/4 mL.

Generally speaking, it is common for users to begin with 1 serving and increase the number of servings consumed at a time until a desired effect is achieved. Some people will find benefit with just our single serving size (2.5 mg using Balance or 5 mg using Relieve), but it is also common for users to consume CBD in increments of 10 mg, 20 mg or 50 mg at a time. This is why best results are achieved by starting with the smallest serving size and increasing the number of servings over time until the desired effect is attained.

An average human can tolerate 20 mg per kilogram of body weight on a daily basis without experiencing negative effects, so it is not uncommon for users to ingest 50 mg or more depending on the intent of use.

Determining the “ideal” number of servings for an individual depends on several factors, including body chemistry, weight, health, prescription medications, sensitivity to CBD and desired effect.

We cannot provide individualized usage guidelines.

Question Will CBD get me high?
AnswerUnlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating and non-euphorigenic. Hemp-derived CBD contains only trace amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), so tinctures derived from it are not likely to produce THC effects either.

An average human can tolerate 20 mg per kilogram of body weight on a daily basis without experiencing negative effects. CBD is known to be alerting and energizing at very small amounts (1-2.5 mg) and known to cause drowsiness at extremely high amounts (100 mg to 1 g).

That said, some individuals have reported “altered” states of mind, light-headedness, imbalance and drowsiness at varying serving amounts… and at very high amounts, some users have reported gastrointestinal (GI) upset. It is not clear whether these effects are due to placebo, the CBD or possibly other plant compounds.

If you feel you have an adverse experience, stop using the tincture immediately, seek medical attention if warranted and consult with a trusted medical professional.

If an altered state or drowsiness is experienced, it’s important to avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or using sharp or other dangerous tools.

Question Can I give it to my pet?
AnswerAlthough there are many products on the market designed for pets, you’ll have to talk to your pet’s vet for specific advice.
Question Can I give it to my kid?
AnswerWe can’t tell you whether it’s appropriate to give to a child. Please research and talk with your child’s health care provider for specific advice.
Question Can I add it to my food/smoothie/drink?
AnswerMany people add CBD to their recipes. There are many books and online resources to explore adding CBD to your food.
Question Will this react with my prescription medications?
AnswerResearch and talk with your doctor before making a decision to use CBD tinctures.
Question Can I use this when I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
AnswerResearch and talk with your doctor before making a decision to use CBD tinctures.
Question Will my body build a tolerance?
AnswerWith CBD, more is not always more. Research suggests that the effects can lessen when using too much and/or too often. When CBD is used for notable effects and the effects are no longer appreciated, it may be beneficial to cease use for 2-3 days. This is typically enough time for the body to reset and any notable effects to return.
Question Does it make you drowsy?
AnswerSome users have reported drowsiness. For some, this is not perceived as a negative effect, and they prefer to consume CBD in the evening at home or before bed.

If you experience drowsiness and perceive this as an unwanted effect, the amount you use should be reduced or the product shouldn’t be consumed at all. If drowsiness does occur, it’s important to avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or using sharp or other dangerous tools.

Question What are the possible side effects?
AnswerSome individuals have reported “altered” states of mind, light-headedness, imbalance and drowsiness at varying serving amounts… and at very high amounts, some users have reported gastrointestinal (GI) upset.

It is not clear whether these effects are due to placebo, the CBD or possibly other plant compounds.

People who are concerned about drowsiness or other effects can take it in the evening or before bed.

We created a daily tracker that can be used to help you “Find Your Balance.”

Question How long until I feel something? How long until I see results?
AnswerThe onset of effect after sublingual absorption is 15-45 minutes and can last 2-4 hours. This means that it might take 15-45 minutes before noticing any effect. Some users may experience a faster onset of effect, while others might experience a delayed effect.

Depending on the desired effect or intent of use, the effects of CBD may take several weeks to appreciate—even with daily use. For sustained effects, daily use is ideal.

Question Will I pass a drug test? Can you guarantee it?
AnswerAlthough we guarantee that our hemp-derived CBD tinctures contain less than 0.3% THC, we can’t make claims or guarantees about how our products interact with drug tests.

Please contact your HR department and/or union representative about your company’s individual requirements.

Question Can I still use the tincture if the color has changed or sedimentation occurs?

Question What makes your CBD unique and stand out from others? Is it actually good?

Our tinctures are made in the USA from high-CBD hemp plants grown in the USA—not China-grown hemp—specifically for use in CBD tinctures. Our CBD tinctures start with unique strains of high-CBD hemp (grown in the USA with innovative zero-waste cultivation techniques) specifically for use in CBD tinctures.

Only the finest 100% USDA Certified Organic Industrial Hemp is selected for the proprietary extraction process that uses gentle thermal extraction with zero solvents. “Flash activation” preserves the source plant’s full cannabinoid and terpene profile to ensure a truly full-spectrum CBD-rich hemp extract.

The whole-plant hemp extract is combined with 100% USDA Certified Organic MCT Oil (Coconut Oil), which was chosen as a carrier because of its natural antimicrobial properties and pleasantly neutral flavor that doesn’t mask the natural essence of the extract.

Ethically grown with ecologically sound biodynamic agriculture, our hemp and CBD tinctures are meticulously lab-tested for safety and consistency. This commitment to social responsibility extends to our 1-for-1 program. Our pledge: For every purchase of a BLOOM FARMS CBD product, we donate a healthy meal to a food-insecure individual or family.
